Use Keepd for your business

Access your account, send messages, share files and find customer conversations in Keepd.

Access your account

When you first use StayPrivateMail, typically by sending a #private email, you receive a welcome email to Keepd. Follow that email to access your account.

You can also sign up at keepd.com using the same sign-up process as an individual. Use your business email address for your business communications.

Already set up? Log in to Keepd. The StayPrivate admin portal is separate and handles company settings, branding, routing and billing.

Understand customer channels

Keepd automatically groups communications into private channels based on the sender and recipients. A channel has a Messages area for conversations and a Files area for shared documents.

Sending to a group of recipients creates a channel for that group. Check the recipients before sending or uploading into a shared channel.

Send a message

  1. From the Keepd home screen, open My Emails and choose Compose. Alternatively, open a channel, select Messages and choose Compose.
  2. Check the recipients and write your message. Add files if needed.
  3. Use the message-type control to choose an encrypted email. Use the folder control if you want attached files placed in a particular folder.
  4. Review the message and click Send.

You can send information for customers to read and keep. A reply is only needed when you ask for one.

Share files in a channel

  1. Open the customer channel and select Files.
  2. Choose New to add files or folders.
  3. Use clear folder names so channel members can find the information later.

Customers can also upload their own files to the channel when you need information back.

How recipients receive messages

By default, messages and attachments reach TLS-capable business inboxes using TLS encryption. Personal recipients and businesses without TLS receive a notification linking to Keepd. Copies are also organised in Keepd.

When sending from your company email, #private-all requires every recipient to use Keepd. The shield control in Keepd provides advanced encryption options; review the selected option before sending.

Correct a mistake

You can move, rename and delete shared files and folders in the channel’s Files area. Customers can see an audit trail of activity.

You can quickly delete a sent message and its associated files only when it is less than 48 hours old and the customer has not accessed it. After either limit is reached, normal self-service deletion is unavailable.

Do not treat deletion in Keepd as a way to recall a copy already delivered to an email inbox or downloaded by a recipient.
